In 2022, the socio-economic situation in Hanoi took place against the backdrop of rapidly evolving and complex global and regional developments. The prolonged armed conflict in Ukraine, along with the sanctions imposed by the United States and the European Union on Russia, disrupted the supply of food, drove up prices of energy, services, and essential goods. This situation exerted pressure on inflation, led to an upward trend in interest rates, tightened fiscal and monetary policies, and exacerbated the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic, resulting in a global economic growth slowdown.
